Our Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons for every age, and experience level are offered by Destiny Camp International, Inc.

The Learn to Swim Program is designed for participants 5 years to adults. Students may progress the six (6) levels at their own pace mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. These classes include training in the basic water safety, stroke development and helping others in an emergency.
The Parent and Child Aquatics program is developed for children 6 months to 3 years. This program helps young children get ready to swim by emphasizing fun in the water. Parents and child participate in several guided practice sessions that assist the children learn elementary swimming skills, including water entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating, underwater exploration and more.
The Preschool Aquatics program is designed for children 4 years old to learn water safety, survival skills and foundational swimming concepts in a safe and fun environment. Skills are age appropriate, allowing students to achieve success on a regular basis. Focus is on making children comfortable in the water, basic water safety, kicking, arms and legs movements.

Youth Advanced is a class for students that have successfully completed the Level 3 of the Learn to swim program and desiring to enhance their swimming experience for swim team competition and junior life guarding skills to gain competence in Levels 4-6 of the Learn to Swim program.
Adult Beginner is designed for young adults and for the people who didn’t get much out of your childhood swimming lessons or swimming experiences. NOW you want to participate in lap swimming or a triathlon. You will be leaving behind the treadmill to a new cardio workout in water.
Adult Advanced is designed for the adult swimmer that have successful completed the Level 1-4 of the Learn to Swim program to venture into Level 5-6. Completion of these levels will lead to a life of fulfillment in the water. Completion of these levels will lead to a life of fulfillment in the water. There are opportunities for training in Lifeguarding available to even our more experience adult swimmers.
Destiny Camp International is offering private swim lessons with our highly qualified instructors! All lessons are tailored to meet the individual’s needs and can be scheduled at the individual’s convenience. Fee is 25.00 per half hour lesson. For more information please see a staff member.

Our Other Services

Swimming lessons are not the only thing we do at Destiny Swim Camp. We have other services our clients may be interested in.

This is a program to educate parents and students on safety in and around the water and at home. We will help prepare the families that decide to get pools at their home.
Water Aerobics has three levels of instruction.

Mixed Endurance and Toning class will use a variety of buoyancy equipment to tone and shape muscles while building strength and cardiovascular endurance.

This class will be held in both deep and shallow water. Ability to swim is not required.

Arthritis Aqua Movements focuses on slow moving exercises to increase range of motion and ease arthritic joints. This class is not a cardiovascular class, but focuses on improving range of motion throughout the body. This class will be held in deep and shallow water. Ability to swim is not required.

Cardiovascular Aerobics class will be slow moving to start but progressively intense to get that blood in that heart and body pumping and flowing well. This class will include movements like jumping jacks, jogging, ski motions, stretches, etc.

The purpose of the Lifeguarding certification (American Red Cross) course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illness until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

This course is designed for participants 15 years and older. The length of course is approximately 25 hours and 20 minutes. Course includes: skills drills, land-based skills, in-water skill practice, skills assessment tools, scenarios and two final written exams.

Our Junior Lifeguarding course is designed to guide youth to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. The participants are not required to master or perfectly execute skills. However they will learn techniques and build stamina during the program. Participants will also learn communication and decisions making skills, and basic responsibilities of a lifeguard .

This course is designed for youth 10 years to 14 years of age. The youth will be able to perform these skills : to swim the front crawl, the breaststroke, elementary backstroke, back stroke for 25 yards, floating on the back, proper breathing techniques, treading water and submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet under water. A swimmer has to be swimming at the Level 4-6 to participate in this program.

BLS Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers and CPR through American Red Cross. These courses cover adult /child and infant CPR, single and two rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-mask-valve mask, foreign -body airway obstruction for conscious and unconscious victims, automated external defibrillation, special resuscitation situations, other cardiopulmonary emergencies and stroke and cardiac arrest.

This course can help you keep a loved one, friend, patient, child alive until they can be brought to a healthcare facilities or treated with more advance lifesaving measures. Learn how to save a life!

Are you attempting to join our military forces? Destiny Camp International can help. Each branch of our military has a swim test for qualification. Destiny will teach you to swim and prepare you for the test. Equipment for training is available at Destiny Camp International so your training will be comparable to the actual test.
